WEPL – WICKLOW ENTERPRISE PARK

Since 1995, Wicklow Enterprise Centre  has been successfully assisting fledgling and developing businesses and entrepreneurs.  The Centre has won various awards over the years, most recently  winning the Irish 'Enterprise Support Award' category in the European Enterprise Awards 2007.  The European-wide criteria for this selection was based on 'originality, feasibility, impact on local economy, improvement of local stakeholders relations and tranferability of the project to other regions in Europe'. 

With this accolade to the Centre's credit,  it is clear we provide a service and an environment which is conducive to success for our tenant companies.  Wicklow Enterprise Centre is now a national template for community-led business centre initiatives and is copied around the country and internationally.

As a community-owned company, and holding charitable status, there is a voluntary Board of Directors representing Wicklow County Council, Wicklow Town Council, FAS, Wicklow Community Services and Wicklow Chamber of Commerce.  The centre is managed on a not-for-profit basis.

Wicklow Enterprise Centre has provided workspace and supports to 178 businesses since 1995.  Currently we have over 60 businesses employing in excess of 300 people. We have nurtured and supported these businesses to success.  Last year alone, we had 19 companies 'graduate' from the Centre.  All of these  businesses have grown from small, one-person companies, to medium businesses boasting a minimum of 4 employees, some employing up to 12 people.  Overall, the Centre has been extremely successful and has  substantially exceeded all expectations in terms of growth, financial stability,and job creation.

Operations in the Centre are likened to a one-stop-shop in terms of the services offered to the tenant enterprises. The reception provides a phone answering service, typing, faxing, postal and email facilities.

Free car parking, security, as well as meeting and training rooms are added bonuses.  The focus is on working personally with tenants, not solely as landlords.  We work hard to provide an ideal business environment, with the widest possible range of services and facilities to support businesses, thus allowing them to develop, prosper and create real jobs for Wicklow and its environs.
