Wicklow Enterprise Park was set up in 1993 as a partnership between local businesses, voluntary groups, state agencies and local public representatives, in an effort to encourage employment throughout the County.
This spirit of community enterprise formed the creation of the Wicklow Enterprise Centre, located on the site of the former Celmac factory which had closed down a couple of years earlier.
Operations in the Centre are likened to a one-stop-shop in terms of the services offered to the tenant enterprises. The reception provides a phone answering service, photocopying, faxing, postal and email facilities as well as binding of documents and laminating.
Free car parking, security and a meeting room are other bonuses. The focus is on working personally with the tenants, not as landlords. We work hard to provide an ideal business environment.
Phase II provides high-spec technology accommodation together with superior layout, comfortable interior design, along with ample free car parking. Since the Tánaiste, Mary Harney, officially opened this Phase in October 2002, it has enjoyed full occupancy.
The total cost of this ambitious project, carried out by Wicklow Enterprise Park Ltd., was £1.7 million. This was partially funded from the company’s funds, generated from the enormous success created by the original Centre, in addition to grants received from Wicklow County and Town Councils, Enterprise Ireland – under the Community Enterprise Initiative, and Wicklow County Enterprise Board. In addition, the Centre receives ongoing support from FÁS as well as support from Wicklow and District Chamber of Commerce.
We are committed to providing the widest possible range of services and facilities to support businesses, thus allowing them to develop, prosper and create real jobs for Wicklow Town and its environs. |
