European Enterprise AwardsDirectors of Wicklow Enterprise Park Ltd were recently presented with the 2007 National Finalist Award of this prestigious prize. The award recognises and rewards outstanding initiatives that support entrepreneurship at the regional level.
These awards were launched in November 2005 to raise awareness of partnership activities between local administrations and businesses and highlight the role of entrepreneurial success in developing Europe’s economy.
There are 5 categories of awards and Wicklow Entreprise Centre was entered in Category 2, the "Enterprise Support Award", which recognises innovative policies that promote enterprise and attract investment, particularly in disadvantaged areas.
Making the announcement, Kevin Kavanagh, Dublin and Mid-East Regional Director of Enterprise Ireland said:
I am delighted to announce the selection of Wicklow Enterprise Centre to represent Ireland at the European Enterprise awards in Portugal in December. Wicklow Enterprise Centre provides tailored, innovative and creative enterprise support in the region.
Through its work, Wicklow Enterpise Centre has made a significant impact on regional entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship awareness. This has earned them a place amongst the leading promoters of entrepreneurship in Europe and I wish them every success at the next stage of the Europe-wide Entreprise Awards later this year.
