TEENFOCUS SERVICE
What is Teenfocus?
The Teenfocus service provides a comprehensive support service, including out of hours access, to teenagers aged 13-18 years who are experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
What does Teenfocus do?
The service aims to intervene to provide young people with the necessary supports to promote psychological resilience and maintain their psychological well being, regardless of social or emotional background.
Putting you in control
Teenfocus is a service for and owned by young people, which means:
- The young person can decide if they want to meet with us
- They can decide how long they want to see us for and when the visits will stop
-
The young person works with us to put a plan in place which will provide support to them in overcoming difficulties in their lives
Parent Mentoring Programmes
Teenfocus also knows that sometimes parents, or those who are looking after children, might need help. We offer a parent mentoring support service for parents.
Teenfocus believes that, given the necessary support frameworks, young people can develop psychological resilience and overcome their difficulties.
CHILDFOCUS SERVICE
What is Childfocus?
Childfocus provides a comprehensive, community based one to one support service (including out of hours access) to children aged 12 years or under who may be experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. Childfocus has child and parent mentoring programmes. We support parents through the provision of a supportive parent mentor programme.
What does Childfocus do?
Childfocus aims to support children to overcome their problems and to be able to cope better with anything that happens in their lives.
Childfocus is a service for and owned by children, which means:
- The child can decide if they want to meet with us
- The child can talk to an ISPCC worker face-to-face, on the telephone or over the web.
- The child works with us to put a plan in place which will provide support to them in overcoming difficulties in their life
Visits happen weekly and usually last for about 6 months, but this can change to suit the needs of each child.
